I have a 1977 Gilera 50 ts 50cc five speed. I have difficulty in selecting neutral when I have come to a standstill If I turn off the engine I can do it. I have put all new stuff in the clutch but it is no better.. Any suggestions please.

What oil are you using in the gearbox?

Hello 72 degrees. Thank you for your speedy reply/ 20w 50 oil in the gearbox. Problems are (1) Clunks going into first gear (2) Cant get into neutral from first or second when the engine is running. But can when the engine is switched off. In my limited knowledge it seems like the clutch is dragging

Try a specific motorcycle multigrade gear oil like Motul Transoil 10w 40.

Also check the chain tension is not too tight.

72 degrees. Thanks for that. I am on the case. Could be some time before I actually get round to it but I will certainly let you know what happens.
Good health in 2014.
Chunky.
ps Do you have the same model?

Did anyone know if this modell also has this 'bottleopener' like the more modern Gileras ?
If yes, there is a bolt for adjusting.
