As I haven't got my grubby mitts on the T-K carb over haul kit to stop the float valve leaking on my Nordie I have just fitted (not a 5 minute job) the 33CR Keihin carbs 72degrees had fitted on his hillclimb bike many moons ago, very crisp throttle response and rather loud compared to the T-K's through the (rather open) Remus silencer fitted, one things for sure I wont need a working horn a quick blip and the locals will be doing a crapper

I rode my Nordie around our warehouse complex last Sunday and thought the response and pickup really improved, but not able to get out of 2nd gear for fear of hitting a wall so thought today is the day for a Nordie Sunday ride to see how it was when opened up so got kitted up and trekked to the bike house, MotoX boots are not made for walking dragged the beast outside put on the choke and cranked, fires and then found fuel leaking from the airbox drain pipes , the dam bike had been standing all week with the fuel tap open and when cranked it pissed up my leg so uncovered the Honda and took that for a gallop I'll wash the Honda and then look why the Nordie is being naughty

I had the Keihins overflowing one time after it had been standing for a while. A float needle valve must have stuck or got a bit of something in it. Time to drop the float bowls and jiggle if a quick tap doesn't get it seated again.

Have you done the hex head screw conversion on to the inlet manifold that makes getting the carbs on and off if necessary a lot easier?

after bathing the trusty Honda, I got out the spanners on the Nordie, seat and top of airbox off, cranked it and there she blows crank case filled and blowing out the breather hose into the airbox and out the drain pipes, I can even dip my finger into the oil filler hole and come out with a wet end I left the fuel draining into a big jerry can and came back to the house as its face feeding time, I'll go back and drain the oil after watching F1 on tv, at least it should be well flushed and clean now and yes I removed the allen bolts from both the Nordie and RC manifolds and replaced with shorter hex heads bolts.
Just out of curiosity what did you use for air filters when using the Keihins?
I had a torn airbox to carb bellows and cut off the torn bit where it joins the T-K carbs and bonded a stretchy rubber sheet with 2 bellmouth holes to the standard bellows seems to work and looks OK

I ran without air filters (only hill climb use when I had the bike) - just the Keihin bellmouths. Also running the FPM 'silencer'. So I would guess you will need to jet a bit leaner as you wil need good filtration for your hot dusty roads.

I recently changed email software and the demon mail system has changed a bit but I thought I had everything set up OK again. I've sent you a message you can try replying to.

With a foam filter it looks to be running quite clean on the little run I had, though having just drained 5lts fuel/oil mix that sounds like its running a bit rich??
